RSVP for the ASCAP Pop Music Awards Before It’s Too Late! Lionel Richie, Steve Miller and Sara Bareilles to Be Honored at the 25th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards, and EXPO Attendees are Invited! This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the fabulous, star-studded ASCAP Pop Music Awards, which will be held at the legendary Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on April 9th, 2008, the night before the EXPO officially begins. This year’s show will feature the presentation of Golden Note Awards to legendary songwriter/artists Lionel Richie and Steve Miller, a performance by the evening’s Vanguard Award recipient Sara Bareilles as well as performances by American Idol-turned-pop sensation Elliott Yamin, and songwriters Chris Tompkins and Josh Kear will be performing the hit song they co-wrote for Carrie Underwood, “Before He Cheats.” Deadline to RSVP is April 1st, 2008. You Are Invited To Perform At The EXPO!Olé Publishing and Innovation Entertainment will be co-sponsoring the ASCAP “I Create Music” EXPO closing reception at the Highlands at 6:30pm on Saturday April 12th. For the first time, EXPO registrants will have an opportunity to perform at this reception. During the EXPO, Innovation Entertainment will be listening to pre-recorded music at their booth in the exhibit area (Bring a CD!) A number of songwriters, representing the quality and diversity of EXPO attendees, will then be selected and notified to perform up to two songs (amplified acoustic) at the EXPO’s closing event. No need to bring your instrument. EXPO sponsors will be providing top-notch guitars and a piano. The deadline to have your music considered is 3pm on Saturday, April 12th. |
